DBRS Publishes Credit Rating Report on South Financial Group, Inc. & Related Entities

Dominion Bond Rating Service (“DBRS”) has today issued a credit rating report on South Financial Group, Inc. (the “Company”). The report discusses the rationale behind DBRS’s ratings of the Company. DBRS is releasing this report subsequent to a detailed review of the Company’s operating results and financial fundamentals.

DBRS confirmed the BBB (low) Issuer & Senior Debt rating and the R-2 (middle) Short-Term Instruments rating, and assigned the BB (high) Subordinated Debt rating for the Company. In addition, DBRS confirmed the BBB Deposits & Senior Debt rating and the R-2 (middle) Short-Term Instruments rating for the Company’s banking subsidiaries, Carolina First Bank and Mercantile Bank. All trends are Stable.
