DBRS Publishes Methodology for Rating Companies in the Transportation Industry

DBRS has today released a methodology for rating companies in the transportation industry. This revision is largely an update of the prior DBRS methodology for rating companies in the railway industry, but it is partly new in the sense that it has been extended to also include the trucking industry. The publication of this methodology is part of DBRS’s continued effort to provide market participants with insights into the rationale behind DBRS’s rating opinions.

In addition to general business and financial risk considerations, the methodology reviews a number of rating considerations specific to the transportation industry.

DBRS has taken no rating actions as a result of this updated methodology.
