DBRS Publishes Three Updated Methodologies and One General Criteria

DBRS has today published two updated corporate finance methodologies, one updated public finance methodology and one general criteria as follows:

-- Rating Project Finance,
-- Rating Companies in the Independent Power Producer Industry (previously entitled “Rating Companies in the Non-Regulated Electric Generation Industry”),
-- Rating Container Terminal Operators and
-- Evaluating Corporate Governance.

While changes overall are not substantive and there were no rating changes or rating actions caused by the publication of these methodologies, each methodology has been revised for greater clarity. In particular, the “Rating Project Finance” methodology contains increased detail on merchant power plants, amongst other things, and the “Rating Companies in the Independent Power Producer Industry” methodology contains additional details on the business risk rating (BRR) factor called “market position.”
