DBRS Publishes Rating Companies in the Oil and Gas and Oilfield Services Industries Methodology

DBRS Limited (DBRS) published a corporate finance methodology titled “Rating Companies in the Oil and Gas and Oilfield Services Industries.”

This methodology supersedes and replaces previous versions of two separate methodologies — namely, “Rating Companies in the Oil and Gas Industry” and “Rating Companies in the Oilfield Services Industry,” both of which were last updated in September 2016.

The updated methodology combines the business risk assessment and financial risk assessment sections of the two above-mentioned methodologies in one document, while eliminating duplication of certain common sections. Changes, overall, are not substantive, and DBRS has determined that no ratings are expected to change as a result of this update.
