DBRS Publishes Final Methodology on Government Related Entities

DBRS finalized its Global Methodology on Rating Government-Related Entities.

This methodology presents the criteria for which Government-Related Entity ratings are assigned and/or monitored.

The methodology supersedes the prior version published on February 23, 2018 and is effective as of April 30, 2019.

DBRS did not receive any comments on the methodology, and no additional changes have been made subsequent to the draft version published on March 15, 2019. DBRS has broadened the applicability of the Methodology to include GREs established by sub-sovereign governments. The changes also clarify the relationship between the Methodology and other public sector methodologies (e.g., public hospitals, public universities, etc.). As noted in the March 15, 2019 press release, no ratings are expected to change as a result of this update.

DBRS publishes on its website any comments received except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
