Morningstar DBRS Publishes Final Global Methodology for Rating Companies in the Services Industry

On October 23, 2023, Morningstar DBRS published an announcement regarding the Fundamentals Methodology Integration Project: https://dbrs.morningstar.com/research/422623/dbrs-morningstar-announces-fundamentals-methodological-integration-project. In connection with this project, Morningstar DBRS finalized its Global Methodology for Rating Companies in the Services Industry (the Methodology). The Methodology presents the criteria under which global services company ratings are assigned and/or monitored.

The Methodology supersedes the prior version published on April 15, 2024 and is effective as of September 13, 2024.

Per the press release dated July 18, 2024, Morningstar DBRS requested comments on the proposed changes to the Methodology. No comments were received. Per the same July 18, 2024 press release, Morningstar DBRS deems the update of the Methodology to be material, notwithstanding that there are no significant changes to the analytical approach and that no outstanding credit ratings are expected to change as a result of this update.

All comments received during the request for comment period have been published to the Morningstar DBRS website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
