Morningstar DBRS Assigns Credit Rating of BBB (low), With Stable Trend, to Capital Power (US Holdings) Inc.'s Senior Unsecured Notes
Utilities & Independent PowerDBRS Limited (Morningstar DBRS) assigned a credit rating of BBB (low) with a Stable trend to Capital Power (US Holdings) Inc.'s (CPUSHI or the Company) Senior Unsecured Notes (the Notes) including USD 700 million 5.257% Notes due 2028 and USD 500 million 6.189% Notes due 2035. The rating of these Notes is based on the guarantee provided by Capital Power Corporation (CPC; rated BBB (low), Stable by Morningstar DBRS) and its subsidiaries. The Notes will rank pari passu in right of payment with all existing and future senior indebtedness of the Issuer and guarantors.
Morningstar DBRS understands that CPC intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to fund a portion of the purchase price for the previously announced acquisition of PJM assets, which is expected to close in Q3 2025.
